Dr. Jianxin ZHANG graduated from Tongji Medical University in China, received degree of Bachelor and Master in Medicine there. He then completed his Medical Doctor's Degree at Essen University Medical School in Germany. 
 
Dr. ZHANG is trained in Orthopedics in China, Germany and the United States. From 1991 to 1995 he was trained in Orthopedic Trauma and Hand Surgery in Essen University Medical School, where he was a licensed orthopedic surgeon in Germany. From 2001 to 2002, Dr. ZHANG completed his clinical fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia in the United States. 
 
Dr. ZHANG is specialized in Hand Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma,Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is experienced in complicated orthopedic issues and sports medicine. During his 25 years’ practice, Dr. ZHANG has accomplished thousands of surgeries with great success in his career. Besides, Dr. ZHANG is a visiting associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Baylor Medical College, Texas Medical Center. He was also the physician in charge for CHINA OPEN from 2011-2015.  
 
Dr. ZHANG worked as associate professor and chief surgeon in the department of orthopedic surgery at Union Hospital, Tongji Medical University. He then worked as a senior research scientist at Duke University Medical Center in the US. From 2010 to 2017, Dr. ZHANG worked as attending orthopedic surgeon and deputy director in department of Orthopedics of Beijing United Family Hospital. 
 
Dr. ZHANG has a number of scientific publications in language of Chinese, English and German in prestige journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, Orthopedic Trauma, the Chinese Journal of Hand Surgery, the Journal of Practical Hand Surgery and German publications such as Handcir Mikcrochir Plast Chir and Chirurgische Praxis. Dr. ZHANG has been invited to review scientific manuscripts for a number of renowned international journals. Since 2006 at Duke University Medical Center, he has been twice selected as member of the editorial board for “Journal of Surgical Research”.
